Asus Announces New Graphics Cards Focused on Cryptocurrency Mining

One of the world’s largest technology hardware makers has announced new graphics cards (GPUs) aimed at the cryptocurrency mining market. Taiwan-based manufacturer Asus revaeled the Mining RX 470 and Mining P106, which were designed to handle the energy and heat intensive process of mining. Though not expressly pitched as such, the release is undoubtedly aimed at capturing some of the interest in mining ethereum. Bitcoin Miners Can Now Signal Support for SegWit

Bitcoin miners can now show their support for a long proposed technical update that would boost the network’s transaction capacity. Following block 439,488 on the bitcoin blockchain (which occurred at roughly 8:30 UTC today), miners can now upgrade their software by changing a header value in the blocks that they process. 21 Files for New Bitcoin Mining Patent

21 Inc has applied for a patent for specialized bitcoin mining circuitry, public records show. According to an application published earlier this month by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), 21 Inc is seeking a patent for “digital currency mining circuitry with adaptable difficulty compare capabilities”. The application was originally filed on 6th May, 2015, with 21 co-founders Nigel Drego, Veerbhan Kheterpal and Daniel Firu named as inventors.
